Child’s Play is unique in that it bridges the span between home-based and center-based care. Child’s Play focuses on providing some of the best services available at each.
The school has its own entry, kitchenette, restroom, and cubbies. The school has the comfort of being home-based, but includes the professionalism of a contained and furnished daycare room separate from the private living areas.
In an attempt to provide the most stable environment possible, the school employs a substitute teacher. Families have the best of both worlds with the intimate setting and consistency of home-based care AND the backup care larger centers are able to provide with substitute teachers. The substitute teaches on a regular weekly basis and is available during additional hours, covering Ms. B’s time off.
Child’s Play is staffed with highly educated teachers. We find ourselves teaching young children as the fulfillment of our desired long-term professional goals. Each of us have well over 15 years experience of working with children.
Child’s Play, while home-based, is furnished with materials from teaching catalogs. We offer school-based programs such as Scholastics and school-stimulated assessments, and community-based reading incentive programs including Pizza Hut and Barnes & Noble. We also organize in-house educational fieldtrips that include the Kansas City Zoo, Mad Scientist of KC, visits from our local police and firemen, and much more.
