Program Activities
It is my goal to partner with parents in an effort to create a world in which their child can enjoy and learn. Child's Play is structured and has a strong, educational-based preschool curriculum.
I have created "Child's Play" to provide a nurturing and safe environment in which children can develop. The program is designed to stimulate children in any stage of development.
Child's Play introduces a strong and stimulating preschool curriculum that exposes the children to many developmental toys, games, and activities. Learning techniques include: one-on-one interaction with the teacher, group activities, cooperative learning, and peer tutoring. Toys and teaching tools were selected to be manipulative (hands-on) activities where the teacher can teach a skill while the child is "playing".
For our families, we post weekly photos and videos of the children on kodakgallery.com.
During one-on-one time with the teacher, the children work on many activities that target skill development.
Daily reports are sent home that detail daily activities.
We have book parties throughout the year when we read and record 100 books.
We participate in community reading incentive/reward programs.
We participate in the Scholastic Book Program.
We celebrate birthdays and holidays with parties.
Reading time includes quiet book time, audiobooks, and reading aloud.
The children learn how to make some of their favorite foods.
The children learn more than 25 exercises, many that are put to music, and follow yoga instructed DVDs.
Dance involves a lot of children's music, free-style, and instructed dance.
We do weekly art projects.
We get to pick out stickers and stamps several days of the week.
We run through the sprinkler, dig in the rock box, and look for bugs.
Outdoor play is in a large, fenced, and treed backyard with a high end stamped concrete "race track" and built-in pea gravel "rock box." Indoors and out, Child's Play is an impressive, must-see facility.
