Personalized Environment: A maximum of 10 children (ages 3-6) in a facility with educational toys and unlimited opportunities for creative play and learning.

Location: Located in western Shawnee, just west of Johnson Drive off Monticello & 51st terrace.

Hours of Operation: 7:30 am - 5:30 pm

Full-Time Fee: $200 per week
The weekly fee allow families a maximum of 40-45 hours of my services per week.

I do all-day mixed preschool and daycare because I feel that children this young (3-6 years old) do better if they are able to do many short educational activities with play time in between.  We have circle time, one-on-one with me, and individual work time.  During one-on-one time, I call the children to me and we typically work on an activity while others are in free play.  This creates an atmosphere in which "getting a turn with Ms. B" is highly valued.  During individual work time, the kids get to select the school activity they want to work on and they work at their own pace.  Most of the toys and activities in the classroom are from teaching curriculums I have modified to fit all the skill levels 3- to 6-year-olds move through.  This way, I can have all the children working on the same activity but at their specific skill level.

About the Owner

I am a married 38-year-old and mother of one teenager. I earned a BA in Psychology from a liberal arts college in Iowa and a Master in Child Development at the University of Kansas. I have worked with young children for thirteen years. I've been part of many research-based projects for children in Kansas City and in Iowa. I've also taught kindergarten.
